Femina Miss India finalist Rewati Chetri, who won the Miss India Miss Popular and Miss Multimedia titles, is representing India at the World Miss University 2016 beauty pageant in China and has reached the voting round.
The grand finale of the beauty pageant is scheduled on January 27. More than 70 beautiful and talented undergraduate female students from across the globe are in Beijing not only to win the crown of Miss World University 2016, but also to spread the message of peace and love.
Rewati Chetri, who hails from Haflong and is studying law in a city institute, displayed the Assamese phoolam japi and gamosa at the ‘Charity Market’ organized by the World University Peace Corps Foundation, the organizers of the 27th World Miss University 2016.
The Indian representative has appealed for people’s prayers and support in the form of online votes.
Born to ASEB employee Baburam Chetri and Bina, a homemaker, in 1993, Rewati was brought up in Haflong, Assam.She completed her schooling from St Agnes Convent High School in Haflong before completing her graduation in commerce from Lumding College in neighbouring Nagaon district. Rewati is now pursuing a law degree from NEF Law College in Guwahati, 350km from Haflong.
