Rupam Bhuyan is an Indian playback singer from Assam. He is a multifaceted genius and he almost single handedly popularized modern Assamese Film Songs. He earned supremely good reputation not only in Assam, but also in India. He had created memorable national award winning Assamese film songs. He is the pioneer of the Indian Fusion band in North East breeze or in the land of Assam. He sang in numerous Assamese Films including Khobh, Anuradha, Mumtaz and Akash Chuboloi Mon. He was nominated for Prag Cine Awards-2013 and Prag Cine Awards-2015 in the Best Playback Singer (male) category for the films Mumtaz and Khobh. Rupam Bhuyan was born and brought up in Guwahati. He is the eldest son of Mr Gaurikanta Bhuyan and Mrs Charu Medhi Bhuyan. He has taken the noble job of teaching as profession and a singer by passion. He had done An M.A. , LLB in general education and he obtained ’Visharad’ diploma from ‘Bhatkhande Sangeet Vidyalaya’ and ‘Sangeet Kalabid’ from ‘Bangiya Sangeet Parishad’.
