    Every year Saraswati Puja is performed on Vasant Panchami to worship Saraswati, goddess of learning and a mythological consort of Lord Brahma, according to the Hindu astrological calendar and religious beliefs. The goddess is personified as knowledge in its full grandeur.

    Just like all other festivals, Saraswati Puja which is popularly known as Basant Panchami in other parts of India is celebrated with much fervor and vigor across the state. Cultural programmes and other fun filled activities are organised to celebrate this occasion in every Institutes and colleges.

    Along with Assam, Assamese Student Community of Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata also celebrated in festivals in their colleges.
