A Misinterpreted Malady – Short Film by Tarunabh Dutta

A Misinterpreted Malady is an Assamese short film directed by Tarunabh Dutta

Abandoned by her only son in an old age home, Jayashree spends her days waiting for her son’s phone call and return from U.S. But as the days pass by, her longings and yearnings give way to despair and madness. The only thing holding her together is her self-created imaginary belief, that she is holding conversations with her son over the phone. She becomes obsessed with the phone. She will succumb to her grief and breakdown, only if she ever wakes up into reality. And then, no amount of medicine or treatment would be enough to cure her malady.
