1. The Inspiration About this News Channel

West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee announced that her government will soon launch a newspaper and a television channel to focus on the positive side of things in the state affairs. Inspired by his Bengal counterpart just after two days Assam chief minister Tarun Gogoi said that his government would soon launch its own television channel to ‘show the truth’.

2. What Assam Talks is All About

The channel Assam Talks would organise educational competitions with awards, reality shows, promote scholarships and customer care oriented programme to attract viewers. The USP of the channel would be its fair and balanced, sensitively treated news with creative and original programming.

3. “Having a dedicated TV channel like Lok Sabha is important” – Tarun Gogoi. Is It?!

Assam chief minister said, “The television channels had sensationalized, exaggerated the ULFA bandh episode, and they ignored the good side of that day.”. Lauding Banerjee for her wise decision to launch the West Bengal government’s own TV channel, Gogoi said: “I am following in her footsteps to highlight our government’s achievements. Having a dedicated TV channel like Lok Sabha is important.”
