Assamese Movie “Hari Om” Slated for Release on October 21


The demand of action films by the Assamese audience has declined over the past few months. These action films command a different audience and popularity altogether especially among the youth. Last year, an Assamese action based movie titled ‘Local Kungfu’ created a new trend in action films among the Assamese films. This year, a group of youths have made up their minds to release an action based Assamese film. The title of the film ‘Hari Om’ has been directed by young director Arup Jyoti Rabha and has been produced under the banner of ‘Brahmaputra Boys Entertainment’. The co-producer of the film are Nekibur Jamal and Dr. Kamalendu Roy. This action based movie has successfully completed its shooting and is now ready to hit the theatres.

The film has been inspired by the massively popular ‘Bloodsport’ starring Jean Claude Van Damme. Although this is an action movie, it contains an emotional love story which will enthrall its audience. The key feature of this film is that the stunts in the movie are real and the action scenes have been shot without using any VFX, cables or stunt and body doubles. According to the director, the audience will definitely find a new kind of action in this film. The key role in the film have been played by Bhaskar Ranjan, Prince, Trishna Kurmi, Debashree Gogoi, Bichitra Borgohain, Reev Batsalya, Sourav Baruah, Mukut Deka, Babu, Smrity Das, Kajal Sharma, Prafulla Kr Nath, Dipankar Gogoi, Ruprekha Das, Sarat Hazarika, Sadhan Ray, Rati Ray, Arup Nath, Syon Hazarika among others. Bichitra Borgohain, who has played an important role in this movie, is a master and already second dan black-belt of Tang So Do. The shooting of the movie has been done by Suruj Deka and Bhoda around scenic locations of Guwahati, Shillong and Sikkim which has been edited by Tinku Gogoi. The movie has three songs and one of them is in Hindi. The song’s lyrics have been penned by Smrity Das and Abhishek Sarmah and beautifully rendered by Smrity Das and Bidyut Pathak. The film’s back-ground score has been done by Dipkesh Borgohain, choreography is done by Mansum Pathak and make-up has been done by Smrity Das. The film’s poster has been designed by Dipankar Deka.


The trailer of ‘Hari Om’ is already viral on social networking sites like Facebook, Youtube, Instagram among others. The movie ‘Hari Om’ sprinkled with love, friendship and revenge, is slated for release on October 21 all over Assam. The film is expected to give Assamese film lovers a different type of entertainment while promoting new artists.
