6 Reasons to Watch Assamese Film Bahniman

Assamese film Bahniman is releasing on December 2 all over the country in almost 80 theatres. Twice National Award winner Suresh Pai, who is considered among the best editors in Bollywood, is overseeing the editing of the film.

It is a multi-starrer film comprising Bollywood actor Yashpal Shama and Assamese superstar Jatin Bora among others. Rimi Hazarika, the only actress of the film, is playing a cop. Ravi Janghu, the hero is a former Mr India.

Apart from that Arun Hazarika, Bishnu Kharghoria, Baharul Islam, Nihal Das, Champak Sharma, Suneet Bora, Monuj Gogoi, Rina Bora & Mahadev Deka will also be part of the cast. Actress Pooja Kasekar will be also seen in a special role.

Edited by two time national award winner Suresh Pai and two time Filmfare award winner, the sound designer for the movie is Arun Nambiar. Vfx has been directed by Bollywood’s Sachin Yadav, The movie’s action has been directed by one of the Bollywood’s top action directors, Mr. Moses who has been associated with the movies like ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’, ‘All Is Well’, ‘Ramaiya Vastavaiya’, ‘Commando’, ‘Badshah’, ‘Ajnabi’, ‘Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster Returns’ etc.

5. Mahadev Deka’s Cameo – Our Own Mr. Universe

Mr. Universe Mahadev Deka has been an inspiration for many. In Bahniman he is doing a cameo. Mr Deka was seen for a second in the teaser and we can assume that Mr. Moses has done the right thing which will generate some more claps inside the theatre.

Bahniman has been produced by Barnali Hazarika under the banner of Santoshi Maa Production, one of Assam’s most noted production houses. The movie has been directed by the director of ‘Aisa Yeh Jahaan’ fame, Biswajeet Bora. It is the second venture of this production house after ‘The Face’.

The owner of the distributor company says, ‘We are impressed with Bahniman, the kind of look it has is fabulous. It actually looks like a Hindi film. So, we have decided to distribute an Assamese film the right away for the first time. We need blessings from the people of Assam. We are releasing the film in Assam, Shillong, Arunachal Pradesh, Mumbai, Delhi, Noida, Gurgaon, Pune, Bangalore and Kolkata’.
