“Hadhukotha” depicts some of the timeless Assamese folk stories of Roxoraj Lakshminath Bezbaroa. These stories written in the form of “Burhi Aair Hadhu” have been an integral part of the Assamese folk tradition and have been monumental in the development of art transcending genres, language, and geography. “Hadhukotha” reflects on the essence of folk stories and their impact in shaping young minds of children thereby demonstrating the importance that folk stories have in developing a creative bent of mind. This also helps people in creative pursuits due to which new artworks are born within different artistic fields such as films, theatre, music, painting and so on. “Hadhukotha” is an attempt to shed a light on this significance of folk stories. It is a short film that encompasses the aesthetics of fictional and non-fictional filmmaking.
