Adding another gem to contemporary Assamese music, Bhargav Ojapali released his new single, “Tejoswita Nari” celebrating women and encouraging women empowerment. The budding artist from Barpeta, Assam received a tremendous response for his lyrics video on YouTube (52k+ views in two days) and appreciation for his style of music and soul stirring lyrics.
“Tejoswita Nari” is a song highlighting the significance of women and the value they add to our lives and to the world at large. The song has been designed to appeal to the youth and yet be equally enjoyed by old school music lovers. The entire soundscape, from the melody to the beat structure has been kept very new age and experimental. Bhargav explains how it’s tough to tag this song with any one genre. “I have used a mix of trap and future bass beats, put in some pop elements and combined these with folk. This song is a result of playing around with three genres. “, says Bhargav.
This soothing song is a result of Bhargav’s personal perspective of the world. “Living without my mother for a long time, helped me see how absolutely important she was for me, from the warmth that she brought to our home, the positivity around her, her company and support, her contribution in my life has been unparalleled. It was during one such period, when I was living away from my mother that I penned this song. I couldn’t help but wonder that if my mother’s absence for a small period affected me this much, what would happen if all the women from the world disappeared? I answered myself, this world wouldn’t be the same without them, it would cease to exist. With this realisation, I felt it was crucial that women valued themselves and believed in their own potential. Tejoswita Nari, is my small attempt to celebrate god’s most precious creation, a woman”, added Bhargav.
