Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters continues the adventures of Percy Jackson and his friends, as they search for the golden fleece in order to save Camp Half-Blood. Along the way, they must face off against mythical creatures, including the Minotaur and Medusa.
The Lightning Thief was the first Percy Jackson movie, and it did a great job of bringing the book to life on the big screen. The cast is excellent, and the special effects are top-notch.

1. Clash of the Titans (2010)
Clash of the Titans offers almost two hours of mythical spectacle to its audience. It’s the tale of Perseus, a son of Zeus who gets caught up in a battle between gods and humans.
With the fury of retribution, Perseus creates a band of fighters to assist him in subduing the Kraken, Medusa, and Hades, God of the Underworld for humanity’s sake. Clash of the Titans is a 2010 remake starring Sam Worthington as Poseidon, Liam Neeson as Zeus, and Ralph Fiennes as Hades.
I’m not sure what happened during the editing process, but something certainly did. While the action was decent, the movie as a whole didn’t stand out in any way due to its generic visuals and unoriginal style. Despite this, this is an extremely fun film.
2. The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian (2008)
The second Narnia film, directed by Andrew Adamson, maintains the same high standard set by its predecessor.
Years after four siblings of a family go on an incredible journey through Narnia, they return to assist Prince Caspian to reclaim his throne from his malicious uncle King Miraz.
The family film is adventurous, with doses of teen romance and courage as well as moral decisions offered by all the computer-generated imagery. The success of the first film also served to increase recall value.
3. Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (2001)
The first Harry Potter film, based on the novel by J.K. Rowling, follows young wizard Harry Potter as he attends Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
While there, he makes close friends and powerful enemies, as well as learning more about his family’s past.
With an all-star cast including Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson, as well as amazing special effects, this is a must-watch for any fan of the book series.
4. The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001)
The first film in Peter Jackson’s epic trilogy based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s novel follows a group of friends as they attempt to destroy the One Ring.
While on their quest, the fellowship is joined by various other creatures, including elves, dwarves, and humans.
With an excellent cast and groundbreaking special effects, this movie is a must-see for any fan of the book series.
5. The Hunger Games (2012)
The first film in the Hunger Games franchise, based on the novel by Suzanne Collins, follows Katniss Everdeen as she is chosen to represent her district in the Hunger Games.
The Hunger Games are a televised event in which two children from each district are chosen to fight to the death.
Katniss must use all her skills to survive, and she soon finds herself in the middle of a rebellion against the Capitol.
The Hunger Games is an excellent film, with great action and a strong message. It’s definitely worth watching.
6. The Sorcerer’s Apprentice (2010)
The Sorcerer’s Apprentice is a fun, family-friendly film that’s perfect for anyone who loves a good adventure story.
In the film, Balthazar Blake (Nicolas Cage) is a master sorcerer in modern-day Manhattan trying to defend the city from his arch-nemesis, Maxim Horvath (Alfred Molina).
To do this, he recruits Dave Stutler (Jay Baruchel), a seemingly average guy who shows hidden potential.
The two of them must work together to stop Horvath and his evil plans.

7. Journey 2: The Mysterious Island (2012)
When Sean Anderson (Josh Hutcherson) receives a coded distress signal from an unknown island, he sets out with his new stepfather, Hank (Dwayne Johnson), to find it.
The island turns out to be the home of the legendary Captain Nemo (Michael Caine), and the two must work together to find a way off the island.
8. Divergent (2014)
Divergent is a film based on the novel by Veronica Roth.
The story takes place in a future where society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to a different virtue.
Tris Prior (Shailene Woodley) is born into the faction of Abnegation, but she soon discovers that she doesn’t fit in.
Tris must choose between staying with the only family she has ever known or following her heart.
Divergent is an excellent film, with strong messages about family, love, and courage. It’s definitely worth watching.

Jack the Giant Slayer is a film based on the fairy tale of Jack and the Beanstalk.
In the film, Jack (Nicholas Hoult) climbs a beanstalk into a land of giants.
