G.I. Joe is a series of military science fiction action movies based on the Hasbro G.I. Joe toy, comic, and media franchises. The first film was in production in 2003, but Hasbro advised adapting the Transformers because the United States’ invasion of Iraq took place in March 2003.
In 2009, the first film was released, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. A second film, G.I. Joe: Retaliation was released in 2013. A third film, centered on Snake Eyes titled Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins, was released in 2021, It is now confirmed that a fourth film, G.I. Joe: Ever Vigilant, is in production.
A crossover film with the Transformers film series, is also being developed.

The new movie in this series will be G.I. Joe: Ever Vigilant. This film is currently under production.
The sequel was intended to be released on March 27, 2020, until Snake Eyes reclaimed the spot and was given that date. Due to the COVID-19 epidemic, Snake Eyes’ planned to release on October 23, 2020, was postponed, also delaying Ever Vigilant development. In May 2021, Lorenzo di Bonaventura revealed that there are several scripts for the sequel in development.
